The power system project for an 85m Platform Supply Vessel (PSV), funded by Zhejiang Guohong Shipping Co., Ltd., designed by Zhoushan Wonderful Marine Design Co., Ltd., and built by Zhoushan Qifan Shipbuilding & Repairing Co., Ltd., has officially commenced. After years of stagnation, the offshore oil and gas market is gradually recovering, with multiple tentative orders from CSSC SETH soon to be finalized. The ship owner, Zhejiang Guohong Shipping Co., Ltd., is a specialized maritime enterprise based in Zhoushan, Zhejiang, with over two decades of experience in maritime shipping. Leveraging comprehensive qualifications and a diversified business portfolio, the company has established a strong presence in both domestic and international shipping markets. Its operational routes span multiple regions, including China, South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

The 85-meter PSV has an overall length of 85.00 meters, a beam of 18.40 meters, a depth of 7.80 meters, a design draft of 6.40 meters and it is classed by the China Classification Society (CCS).  The vessel is equipped with SETH’s S-DE solution based on DC grid technology. The system configuration includes four 1,600kW and one 800kW generator sets, which are integrated through centralized DC-Link system. This setup drives two 1,800kW main propulsion motors and two 880kW thruster motors, meeting DP-2 requirements. Additionally, the vessel is designed with reserved battery interfaces and installation space for containerized power supply, providing flexibility and potential for future green energy upgrades. Compared to other grid configurations, SETH’s DC-Link system offers superior compatibility with battery integration. It is anticipated that the installation of batteries in the future will deliver significant advantages such as peak shaving, energy efficiency improvements, and enhanced environmental performance. It is also know that the vessel's fire-fighting capability complies with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) FiFi 2 standard, ensuring high-efficiency emergency fire suppression and protection capacity.

Currently, CSSC SETH is deeply committed to the PSV market and has successfully applied our technologies to dozens of vessels, securing both domestic and international orders. We have innovatively proposed the S-DE + battery hybrid technology, which has gained market traction due to its superior dynamic response and significant energy-saving benefits. Starting with the batch project of 8 Singapore SPEC SPP40 PSVs (equipped with S-DE + containerized power supply), CSSC SETH broke the long-standing stagnation in the offshore oil and gas market. This was followed by projects such as the Lianyungang Wuzhou Shipping 92m PSV (S-DE + reserved battery interface), the Jiaxin Marine 85m PSV (S-DE + reserved battery interface), and the Malaysian Keyfield Offshore 90m PSV photovoltaic energy storage power system (two vessels). Through these projects, CSSC SETH has steadily built a core technological barrier in the offshore oil and gas segment, strongly leading the upgrade of power systems in this niche market and contributing to the revival of the offshore oil and gas industry with our innovative solutions.
